EXCEPTIONAL HEAD CHEF OPPORTUNITY

Following the purchase the Penmaenuchaf in mid-June, the Seren collection have begun their search for a Head Chef to build the venue into an exceptional UK food destination.

Penmaenuchaf is a small luxury hotel and restaurant, recently acquired by Seren, a unique collection of high-quality hospitality venues in Wales. The hotel is highly regarded as one of the finest privately-owned country house hotels in North Wales. Overlooking the Mawddach Estuary, at the foot of Cadair Idris in Snowdonia National Park, the 14-bedroom hotel is also home to an excellent restaurant that is also renowned for a wonderful wine list.

Seren is privately owned by Neil and Zoe Kedward and includes the 5-star Grove of Narberth hotel, Michelin starred Beach House Restaurant in Oxwich and the highly regarded Coast Restaurant in Saundersfoot.

Building on the success Seren has achieved in South West Wales, owners Neil and Zoe plan to fully refurbish every part of Penmaenuchaf Hotel to begin a new chapter for this old house. A successful candidate will ideally have: 

  • Outstanding kitchen management experience and technical skills at Michelin star and/or 4/5 AA Rosette level.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with a calm mature management approach.
  • Ability to act as a both a figurehead and an ambassador for Penmaenuchaf.
  • Dedicated and exceptional team player.
  • Demonstrable passion for championing local produce and suppliers.
  • A natural intellect with clarity of purpose and direction.
  • Personable approach with the skills and knowledge to inspire a top quality team.
  • Strong coaching style and staff development focus.
  • Business acumen and clear commitment to deliver against targets.
  • Personality and confidence to represent the restaurant externally at food festivals and other industry events.
  • Commitment and diligence to continue the highest levels of food hygiene.

We are now looking for a passionate and dedicated Sous Chef who is passionate about being part of a team that is striving to become a nationally recognised destination for food lovers.

What we offer:
