Room Overview
Carreg is a delightful Deluxe room set in the eaves on the top floor of the house. The super king-sized bedroom has views out over the historic formal gardens at the front of the house, and enjoys a large bathroom with a double-ended cast iron bath, and a large monsoon walk-in shower. This suite has been recently refurbished to the very highest standards, incorporating glorious traditional wallpapers and fabrics, beautiful handmade rugs, and antiques, to create a perfect cosy retreat at the top of the house.
Carreg is the Welsh word for stone, and this room is named after the pile of stones that mark the summit on top of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdonia). Legend says that under the pile of stones lies the body of fearsome giant Rhitta, who was slain and buried there by King Arthur after a fearsome battle.
